Online tuition is extremely convenient given that it saves both time and money in travelling to a teacher. It is also extremely effective since the current generation of students are generally very much at home with digital learning.
Our tuition provides a solid grounding in the building blocks of music theory, such as rhythm, time signatures, key signatures and the circle of fifths, intervals, transposition, and triads which are the basic unit of harmony. In all of these topics it much better for the student to consider, with the help of the tutor, the broad concepts such as ‘what is the point using different keys’, in order to achieve a sense of perspective and understanding. There is also fine detail to which the student must become atuned, and some memory work.
The course is designed to prepare students for the ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory examination, but we hope to share our love and enthusiasm for music!
Individual tuition is available at a cost of £40 for a single lesson of 50 minutes, or a course of 10 lessons for £350.
